Beginning with shows for his parents, including brother and sisters as cast members, his whole family soon took to the stage at local community theaters in Cincinnati, Ohio. There he developed his skills as an actor, focusing on physical comedy. As a teen in the early 1970's, Greg developed an interest in magic, sleight-of-hand and other forms of prestidigitation including juggling, puppetry and clowning that has continued to this day. He's written instructional books for other children's entertainers worldwide, and has conducted seminars and lectures for various magician & clown organizations including the International Brotherhood of Magicians, KIDabra International, and the World Clown Association. Performing professionally in the Atlanta area as "The Wizard of Odd" since 1986, Greg has entertained at countless events, ranging from birthday parties to appearances in the Governor's Mansion. His specialty is children's shows, and he loves seeing the smiles on his audiences faces! Since 2006, Greg has been transitioning to the performing name of "Mr Greggy". Details at the end of this bio. Since 1993, Greg has taught magic, clowning, balloon sculpting and juggling to thousands of children at the Circus Camp, a summer day camp located near Atlanta which focuses on spreading the joy of circus skills. Other subjects taught there include trapeze, tightwire, drama, dancing, web and acrobatics. Greg also designs their promo materials and website. www.CircusCamp.org In 2003, Greg toured with the Clyde Beatty~Cole Bros Circus as the "Circus Ambassador" for thier 119th season. As the national spokesperson during the nine month, 110 city tour, he traveled ahead of the 3 three ring circus, doing hundreds of promotional appearances on TV, radio, newspaper, schools and other live events. ------------------------------------------ From Wizard of Odd to MrGreggy Why I'm gradually transitioning to "MrGreggy" I've never really liked using "The Wizard of Odd". Too many times I get called the "Wizard of Oz", I always have to repeat it &/or spell it, it's too long to use as a magic word (a great marketing tool I learned from Ken Scott), and somebody in San Francisco owns "www.WizardOfOdd.com" until 2010. All I could get was the .org version. Plus, as you can see, it looks strange with the "O" in "of" capitalized, but if it's lower case, it looks like WizardofOdd.com, not much better. "MrGreggy.com" makes for a great magic word, easy to spell and remember, thousands of kids know me by that name from 14 years at circus camp here in Atlanta, and I own "www.MrGreggy.com". It looks good, and I think the two lowercase "g" resemble a smile. Could be a useful element in a logo design.
